A comfortable impossibility is something I am comfortable with it being truly impossible for me to accomplish.
The most obvious example is athletic. I will never play in the NBA. That is and has always been truly "impossible" for me. There is a much better chance of me winning Mega Millions. And I don't play lotto. So there we are. Impossible.
But there are things that I might say are "impossible", but are they? Are they really impossible? There would be sacrifices to be made, but there is a chance. There are many things in this category that also share the odds with Mega Millions, but the difference is that this category bought a ticket. Some bought thousands, increasing the odds, and there are some that bought just one.
